My First Blog: Vacation Road Trip

Now here I go, my first blog and I haven't even had coffee yet.

I just returned home a few days ago from a Fantastic road trip with Amanda
We left Orlando a couple weeks ago headed towards DC which was our furthest destination north.

Our first stop was in Savannah Ga for a couple days. Sean drove over from Atlanta and joined us. We kind of went on a ghost tour our first night, but it was a bit boring, so we ditched out. We walked a lot of the historical district on first and second day till it got so hot on the second day, we just couldn't stand it and hopped into the car and drove out to Tybee Island and then went and checked out Fort Jackson. That night we went to the Pirate house and attended the dinner show. It was pretty good, just don't order the chicken. LOL wink wink
We had a great time site seeing Savannah, but dam was it hot.

Amanda and I then drove from Savannah to Leesburg Va where we visited and stayed with my brother Steve and his Family for a few days. What a great time of relaxing. Shannon and the boys Conner and Eric are just a delight to be around. Loved our time with them and really wish we could have spent a whole week with them. I truly miss not being able to see them more often.

On Friday July 13 we hopped a coach bus to DC which is where we hooked up with Larry who flew in to join us for the weekend. Friday and Sat we went to many monuments, the Capital, the US Botanical Garden. By Sat evening Amanda was a bit tired so she hopped a train back to the Marriott for some computer time and a chance to go work out, and Larry and I continued to explore the city.

Sunday morning Larry and I got up at the crack of dawn to take the train down to the Washington monument to get tickets for that day. Steve and Shannon drove in with the boys and we got to spend the day with them in the City. Again this as a really hot day and we ended up going tot he National Museum of Natural History, sorry Steve I know your really tired of going to the stuffed zoo museum, but dude, that was a cool shark IMAX. OK maybe it was the nap we took during the IMAX, but the boys really loved it.
So Monday morning Larry few back to Orlando and Amanda and I had a few more places we wanted to see in DC, and since we had rode out to Steve and Shannon's on Sunday night a picked our car back up.
We got to drive around and go to the Jefferson memorial

and then over to the Supreme Courthouse. Which we got to the Supreme Court just in time to go on the tour, so Amanda was really pleased with that. Then after getting lost in ugly DC traffic we finally got on the road headed to Sean's in Atlanta.

BTW a little FYI don't be driving 20 miles over the speed limit in South Carolina with no ideal where your car registration is unless your a hot 18 year old girl and your lucky enough to get a cute young SC cop to pull you over and who kindly reminds you to please slow down.
Dam to be young again ; )

So we got to hang @ Sean's new place for about a day and a half. What a cool house you got yourself there bud.

You so know I will be back to visit and actually hang by your pool again this summer. Just got to get the girl off to school first.
Amanda and I went to IKEA, and of course that took most of our afternoon. So can't wait till our Ikea here in Orlando opens in a few months.
Went to Dinner with Sean and Tony at the funniest Mexican restaurant ever.
Maybe it was all that Itilian Wine.
Then we kind of just hung at the house talking just plain having a good time.
A little too good I guess, the boys were quite under the weather the next morning. I do believe neither of them made it to work. LOL and of course Amanda and I were fine. Wimpy boys LOL
And you two laughed at me for being so worried about switching my drinking from Wine to more wine or beer or Vodka. It's totally because I do not like or have time for all that hangover crap. Love ya wink wink
hmmm can't wait till our trip to Honduras
